University of Alberta
Online Course Content Creator - Criminal Law
This position has an initial appointment of 8 months.
Location - This position is mostly remote, but in person meetings may be required
The University of Alberta Faculty of Law is seeking a legally qualified individual to lead the content development for an asynchronous online criminal law course. This course is an important part of a new undergraduate certificate program in Law; the audience is non-JD undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Alberta and those enrolled in the undergraduate certificate program. The course will be a polished, for-credit, optional course that students can complete online with little to no assistance. Course content should remain relevant for a three to five year period.
With the assistance of TAs, the course developer will compile and create all substantive content for the course, including micro-lecture videos, readings, assignments, and quizzes. No graphic design or web design experience is required, as the drafted course content will be provided to a design team to convert into a high quality online format.
This part-time position can be held in conjunction with another professional practice and/or position. The start and end dates for this appointment, and the schedule for weekly hours are negotiable, but the goal is to have the course fully drafted and ready for the design team by the end of June 2027.
