Your Opportunity:
Responsible for coordinating the Northern Alberta Pediatric High-Risk RSV Prevention Program, including identifying eligible infants and children, providing family education and counselling on RSV and available immunoprophylaxis therapies, administering RSV prophylaxis, and facilitating access to treatment across Northern Alberta. Collaborates with inpatient units, specialty clinics, physicians, public health, community providers, and rural and remote healthcare facilities to support patient identification and program delivery. Provides education, guidance, and ongoing support to healthcare providers, community clinics, and healthcare teams participating in the program to ensure consistent application of eligibility criteria, program standards, and best practices. Coordinates the ordering, distribution, and delivery of RSV prophylaxis products to hospitals, community clinics, and designated care sites throughout Northern Alberta, ensuring appropriate inventory management, product accountability, and reporting requirements are met. Collects and maintains clinical and operational data; prepares reports for Alberta Health and organizational stakeholders; participates in quality improvement initiatives; and serves as a clinical resource for healthcare providers and families regarding RSV prevention. Represents the program through collaboration with provincial RSV prevention programs and participation in national advisory and stakeholder meetings. The Northern Alberta Pediatric High-Risk RSV Prevention Program supports the identification and immunoprophylaxis of eligible high-risk infants and children and facilitates equitable access to prophylaxis across Northern Alberta. This seasonal position requires the successful candidate to work up to full-time hours during the annual RSV season, typically from October through April.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Active registration in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Registered Nurse with prescribing authorization and Advanced Nursing Practice privileges. Minimum three (3) years of recent ambulatory pediatric nursing experience. Minimum five (5) years of acute care pediatric, PICU, and/or NICU nursing experience. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community partners. Experience coordinating care across inpatient, outpatient, community, and rural healthcare settings. Experience with data collection, reporting, inventory management, and quality improvement activities. Ability to travel as required to support program delivery throughout Northern Alberta. Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of competency in pediatric care and advanced nursing practice. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in awkward or sustained positions for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks. Experience with Connect Care and computer skills. Must successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam with 90% or more which is done at the time of interview. PEARS or PALS.
