Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum one year of Trauma nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting. Minimum one year of Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Current proficiency in IV therapy, pre-operative and post-operative care protocols, Central line and PICC line care, basic surgical wound and drain care, Complex wound care, including Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (VAC dressings), NG tube insertion and management, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) administration, PCA, PCEA, and TAP management, Insulin infusion protocols, blood product administration. Must be free of current activity restrictions, including limitations related to pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending. Rotation and scheduling requirements are subject to change based on operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to safely lift 25-50 pounds (11-23 kilograms).
