Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous LPN experience within the last 2 years. Previous ambulatory/outpatient care experience within the last 3 years. Connect Care experience. Previous experience working in a busy ambulatory/outpatient clinic environment. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple competing demands and changing priorities within a fast-paced clinic setting. Ability to provide hands-on patient care within the scope of the LPN role, including assisting with patient positioning, mobility and transfers as required. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 10–15 kg as required for patient care and clinic activities. Ability to frequently stand, walk and move throughout the clinic during the workday. Ability to perform routine clinical activities requiring bending, reaching, twisting and sustained periods of standing and walking. Ability to safely assist patients with mobility needs, including bariatric patients, within the ambulatory clinic environment. Strong organizational, communication and prioritization skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with patient teaching and education. Experience assisting physicians with minor procedures. Previous experience in General Internal Medicine or a specialty ambulatory clinic. Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary ambulatory care team. Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and patient flow.
