The Office of Rural and Regional Health (ORRH) works in partnership with educational teams across the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and with communities throughout rural and regional Alberta. Together, we support high‑quality medical education for both undergraduate and postgraduate learners, ensuring students gain meaningful experience in diverse clinical environments across the province.

The Medical Education Program Administrator plays a vital role in advancing distributed medical education across Alberta. This position provides core administrative leadership for Preclinical Networked Medical Education (PNME)—a program that brings undergraduate medical education to rural and regional training sites.

PNME delivers MD Program curriculum developed by Course Coordinators and enables approximately 40 second‑year medical students to complete their Gastroenterology & Nutrition (GI) and Reproductive Medicine & Urology (Repro) blocks in 10 rural and regional communities across Alberta. The MEPA ensures these learning experiences run smoothly by coordinating logistics, supporting learners and faculty, and maintaining strong relationships with community partners.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys building connections across teams and communities, and is energized by supporting medical education beyond the traditional classroom.
