Your Opportunity:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic, you will provide specialized nursing care, developmental follow-up, care coordination, and family support for infants and children with complex medical and developmental needs, many of whom have a history of NICU admission. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development, identify emerging concerns, and facilitate referrals, interventions, and ongoing follow-up. The RN is self-directed and highly motivated with demonstrated leadership skills, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication. In this role, you will provide face-to-face and telephone support, education, coaching, and anticipatory guidance to families and caregivers related to child development, feeding, sleep, play, communication, socialization, and health promotion. You will collaborate closely with pediatricians, physicians, allied health professionals, community partners, and NICU teams across Alberta and Western Canada to promote continuity of care and incorporate evidence-informed best practices. You will be require to support efficient clinic operations, contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives, and help maintain effective clinic processes that optimize patient and family outcomes. The RN works collaboratively and consistently with all members of the multidisciplinary team while advocating for excellence in patient- and family-centered care. Experience in NICU, neonatal follow-up, and/or pediatric nursing is required. The ability to work independently while leading and collaborating within a dynamic team environment is essential.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

5 years RN experience in NICU and/or Pediatric nursing is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care trained, with the ability to navigate and utilize the system effectively. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and be self-directed. Preference will be given to RNs who have demonstrated leadership experience and/or leadership capabilities.
