Senior Financial Analyst
Your Opportunity:
The Accounts Payable, Quality & Compliance and Data Governance team is part of Accounts Payable, Finance Shared Services Department. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Financial Analyst who excels at transforming financial data into actionable insights and is eager to support strategic decision-making across the organization. In your role as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for: Preparing and analyzing Financial Directive, KPI, month-end, quarter-end and year-end reports. Performing account reconciliations and variance analysis, and developing ad hoc reports to support financial performance monitoring, compliance, and business objectives. Managing, extracting and analyzing large datasets from multiple sources in Oracle EBS and other reporting systems. Strong expertise is required in developing automated reporting solutions, performing data validation and reconciliation, troubleshooting data integrity issues, and transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable information. Serving as the primary liaison between Accounts Payable and internal or external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests. Identifying process and compliance risks and recommending improvements to strengthen financial controls and operational effectiveness. Serving as the functional expert for Oracle EBS Accounts Payable and related financial modules. Troubleshooting system issues, coordinating fixes with IT or external vendors. Supports testing cycles (UAT, Go live) for patches, upgrades, and new functionality. This position is eligible for remote work arrangement within the province of Alberta.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Post secondary degree in accounting, or related field, and minimum 8 years’ recent experience with Accounts Payable functions, financial analysis, financial reporting, audit and compliance. Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge using complex formulas and functions, VBA/macros, advanced Developer queries, designing interactive forms using visual basics).
Preferred Qualifications:Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E Business Suite (or similar ERP systems), especially Accounts Payable module. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot is considered an asset.
